Overview
This face-to-face training is designed to meet the annual training requirement for family child care providers who are participating in the Child and Adult care Food Program (CACFP). 
Objective
5.5 Understands the importance of good nutrition and food safety to support healthy growth in children and families
5.5 a. Promotes and models healthy nutritional practices
5.5 b. Practices appropriate hand washing and food handling techniques
5.5 c. Matches nutritional practices to the child’s developmental stage and special dietary needs including health conditions, and cultural and religious dietary restrictions
5.5 d. Shares information on the advantages of breastfeeding and provides support for breastfeeding
5.5 e. Shares information on nutritional needs and appropriate feeding of infants and children
5.7 Understands the necessity of maintaining records related to the health, safety, and nutrition of children and families
5.7 a. Assures appropriate and accurate documentation is maintained to meet all legislation, regulations, and professional standards
5.7 b. Maintains the confidentiality of health care records
5.7 c. Maintains and understands the importance of keeping health, safety, and nutritional records on children organized, accessible, and up-to-date
